California Public Meetings Are Becoming More Connected
California Senate Bill 707 updated portions of the Ralph M. Brown Act governing public meetings.
Beginning July 1, 2026, applicable legislative bodies are subject to additional public-access requirements that include opportunities for members of the public to participate remotely through two-way telephone or audiovisual technology.
For many agencies, this makes the reliability of meeting-room AV, networking, audio, and remote-participation systems increasingly important.
