Project Overview

Commercial structured cabling engineered for FloQast's growing Los Angeles office.

The Access Cabling Los Angeles team completed a commercial structured cabling infrastructure project supporting FloQast's growing office environment — delivering an organized, scalable, enterprise-grade cabling system designed to support future growth while maintaining a clean and professional appearance above the ceiling.

Every element of the installation — pathway routing, support spacing, cable dressing, labeling and access — was planned to give FloQast's IT and facilities teams infrastructure they can trust for the long term. The result is a low-voltage backbone that reads as intentional infrastructure: continuous Legrand® wire basket cable tray carrying Panduit® CAT6 plenum cabling on a coordinated overhead pathway.

Project Objectives

What the FloQast infrastructure was designed to deliver.

  • Clean and organized overhead infrastructure
  • Scalable cable pathways
  • Professional cable management
  • Reliable CAT6 network infrastructure
  • Easy future expansion
  • Simplified long-term maintenance
  • Professional installation standards
The Challenge

Common problems in unmanaged commercial office cabling.

Commercial office buildouts frequently inherit — or create — cabling problems that quietly limit the building's future. Access Cabling's design for FloQast set out to solve each of these before they became operational issues:

  • Disorganized cabling
  • Limited pathway capacity
  • Poor documentation
  • Restricted airflow above the ceiling
  • Future expansion difficulties
  • Maintenance challenges

For an enterprise business, well-designed structured cabling infrastructure isn't cosmetic — it's the foundation of every future move, add and change the network will need to support.

Our Solution

A coordinated Legrand® + Panduit® overhead cabling system.

Access Cabling designed and installed an organized structured cabling system utilizing Legrand® wire basket cable tray as the primary overhead pathway, with Panduit® CAT6 plenum cabling routed through the tray to every station and network device location in the office.

The tray system was supported at consistent intervals, transitioned neatly around HVAC, lighting and structural elements, and left with generous spare capacity for future adds. Cables enter and exit the tray with controlled radius and clean drops — the workmanship standards Access Cabling applies on every commercial and enterprise buildout.

  • Legrand® wire basket cable tray systems
  • Panduit® CAT6 plenum cabling
  • Professional overhead cable routing
  • Proper support spacing
  • Neat pathway transitions
  • Clean cable organization
  • Future-ready cable capacity
  • Consistent installation standards
Installation Highlights

What sets this installation apart.

LEGRAND® WIRE BASKET CABLE TRAYS

Continuous overhead pathway built from Legrand® wire basket tray — supported at consistent intervals, transitioned cleanly around structure and MEP, and sized with capacity for future adds.

PANDUIT® CAT6 PLENUM CABLING

Panduit® CAT6 plenum-rated station cable run through the tray in disciplined bundles, ready to support gigabit Ethernet, wireless access points and PoE devices throughout the office.

OVERHEAD CABLE PATHWAYS

Dedicated overhead pathways keep low-voltage cabling off structure, out of unrelated systems and clearly separated from power — the foundation of a serviceable commercial network.

COMMERCIAL OFFICE INFRASTRUCTURE

Built for a working commercial office environment: coordinated with HVAC, lighting, sprinkler and structural above the ceiling so every trade has room to work now and later.

FUTURE EXPANSION DESIGN

Tray fill left well below capacity so the client can add drops, wireless access points, cameras and future systems without pulling down the ceiling or rebuilding pathways.

PROFESSIONAL CABLE ROUTING

Bundles enter and exit the tray with proper radius, clean transitions and controlled drop points — the difference between an installation that ages well and one that turns into rework.

LOW-VOLTAGE INFRASTRUCTURE

Structured, standards-based low-voltage backbone designed to carry the client's data, voice and network devices on a single well-documented infrastructure.

ENTERPRISE NETWORK INSTALLATION

Installed to the workmanship standards Access Cabling applies on enterprise projects — consistent supports, labeled runs, and pathways an internal IT team can extend with confidence.

Why Overhead Cable Management Matters

Professionally designed cable tray systems pay back for the life of the building.

An overhead cable tray system isn't just a place to put wires. It defines how easily every future technology change — new drops, wireless access points, cameras, AV — can happen without disturbing the ceiling or the tenants below it.

IMPROVED ORGANIZATION

Every cable has a defined home in the tray — no random ceiling runs, no cables tie-wrapped to unrelated systems.

SIMPLIFIED MAINTENANCE

Techs can locate, service and re-terminate runs without disturbing HVAC, lighting or sprinkler.

BETTER CABLE PROTECTION

Cables ride in a continuous supported pathway instead of resting on ceiling grid or structure.

SCALABILITY

Tray fill left well below capacity means new drops and future systems drop into the same pathway.

CLEANER INSTALLATIONS

Consistent supports, radius control and transitions create the professional appearance clients expect from a commercial buildout.

FASTER FUTURE MACs

Moves, adds and changes happen inside a defined pathway — not by pulling ceiling tiles and hunting for cables.

REDUCED CABLE CONGESTION

Purpose-built low-voltage pathways keep data cabling out of the airflow, lighting and fire-protection zones.

PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE

Overhead tray systems read as intentional infrastructure — an obvious sign the building is professionally maintained.

LONG-TERM SERVICEABILITY

The next contractor, integrator or IT team can service the system on day one, not after a discovery phase.

FAQ

Commercial structured cabling — common questions

WHY USE OVERHEAD CABLE TRAYS IN A COMMERCIAL OFFICE?+

Overhead cable trays give every low-voltage cable a defined, supported pathway from the telecom room to the work area. That means cables are protected, organized, easy to inspect, and simple to extend — instead of being tie-wrapped to structure or draped through unrelated systems.

WHY CHOOSE WIRE BASKET CABLE TRAY SYSTEMS LIKE LEGRAND®?+

Wire basket trays are lightweight, easy to modify in the field, and allow full visual inspection of the cable bundle. Legrand® wire basket systems are widely specified for enterprise and commercial buildouts because they integrate cleanly with strut, threaded rod and existing MEP pathways.

WHAT IS PANDUIT® CAT6 PLENUM CABLE?+

Panduit® CAT6 plenum-rated cable is a Category 6 twisted-pair cable with a jacket rated for installation in air-handling (plenum) spaces above the ceiling. It supports gigabit Ethernet and PoE devices and is the standard choice for commercial ceilings that share HVAC return-air pathways.

WHY IS STRUCTURED CABLING IMPORTANT FOR AN ENTERPRISE OFFICE?+

Structured cabling gives you one documented, standards-based infrastructure that every network, phone, wireless access point, camera and low-voltage device connects through. That consistency is what makes future adds, moves and changes fast — instead of turning every service call into a redesign.

HOW DOES ORGANIZED OVERHEAD CABLING REDUCE MAINTENANCE?+

When cables live in a labeled, accessible tray system, technicians can trace, service and extend runs without disturbing other systems. That reduces the time and risk of every future MAC (move, add, change) and keeps the ceiling serviceable for the life of the building.

CAN ACCESS CABLING DESIGN COMPLETE COMMERCIAL OFFICE NETWORKS?+

Yes. Access Cabling designs and installs complete commercial network infrastructure — structured cabling, fiber backbones, wireless, cable tray pathways, network racks, patch panels and server room buildouts — for enterprise offices, TI projects and new construction throughout California.

DO YOU PROVIDE FLUKE TESTING AND CERTIFICATION?+

Yes. Every structured cabling installation can be tested and certified with Fluke DSX equipment, and the certification results are delivered as part of the closeout package alongside labeled port maps and as-built documentation.
